The Phase IV Interceptor System Metering program involves installing flow meters, pressure sensors, and telemetry equipment at approximately 180 sites throughout the jurisdictional boundaries of the Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD) Interceptor System. The flow meters and pressure sensors will be used to quantify flow and pressure values from each member jurisdiction. This data will also assist with the hydraulic model calibrations and verifications. The metering program is tied to the 2007 Consent Order between HRSD, the member jurisdictions and the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. O’Brien & Gere is one of four consultants assisting HRSD with the Phase IV Metering Project. The initial phase of the project involves site selection for the flow meters, pressure sensors, and telemetry equipment. O’Brien & Gere has been tasked to investigate 74 of the sites located in both the North Shore and the South Shore systems. These sites consist of 19 government industrial waste division (IWD) sites and 55 HRSD pump station and pressure reducing station sites. |
